Garrett McDaniel, M.S.

Garrett McDaniel, M.S.

Garrett McDaniel is a man that wears many hats. You may see him out sweating covered in paint and an hour later cleaner than a bar of Dove soap wearing a suit and tie. At 28, he is a small business owner, dedicaticated civil servant, and most recently was elected to county council becoming the youngest councilman in South Carolina. Garrett is a 2009 graduate of South Carolina State University where he was a member of the SCSU Honors College, the Beta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and served as Student Government Recording Secretary. He was awarded a full academic fellowship to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and received a Masters of Science in Transportation Engineering in 2011.

Garrett spent 4 years in transportation management before deciding to return to his hometown of Laurens, SC shortly before the passing of his father, the late Edward McDaniel. Following the path layed before him by his father, Garrett continued the the operation of T.E.A.M. Companies, LLC and McDaniel Enterprises as well as diving into the world of politics. In July 2015, Garrett was elected to county council, replacing his father who served for 30 years. Outside of politics, Garrett spends time volunteering for various local organizations, is a Rotarian, and serves on the Board of Trustees for A Bevy Inc. non-profit organization and Bridging the Gap Outreach.
